Uxbridge, Ontario - Moving To Uxbridge? - Building A Community Of Character
A community of Character shows respect for each other and those in authority
"RESPECT"
"Respect denotes both a positive feeling of esteem for a person or other entity (such as a nation or a religion), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. Respect can be a specific feeling of regard for the actual qualities of the one respected (e.g., "I have great respect for her judgment"). It can also be conduct in accord with a specific ethic of respect." source wikipedia
Take some time this Saturday and learn how respect can be woven into the fabric of Uxbridge. Listen as two experts on the subject discuss how respect can be become a thread in the fabric of the community.
| A School Principal: Mr. Rick Dejong
Quaker Village Public School, known for its positive, welcoming style was opened with Dejong as principal. In his 18th year as a school administrator, Rick is currently the Principal of Sunderland Public, having also served at Uxbridge Public School, RH Cornish (Port Perry) and Cartwright Central Public School (Blackstock). |
A Police Officer: Det. Tim Brown

Respect should not be confused with tolerance, since tolerance doesn't necessarily imply any positive feeling, and is compatible with contempt, which is the opposite of respect.source wikipedia
